55Plus Equity Release in the news
Last month, the media giant wanted to run an article on the rise of products available in the equity release sector and needed some industry experts to help give the story weight and contribute their insider knowledge. We were delighted when they reached out to our founder and Managing Director, Jan Johnson, to feature.
Jan’s equity release expertise
The Financial Times was in good hands with Jan, as she has been in the financial services industry for over 30 years. Jan set up 55Plus Equity Release in 2006, wanting to start a firm driven by transparency with its customers, striving to get them the right deal for their unique circumstances.
Jan’s personal accolades include winning the National Equity Release Best Sole Trader Award in 2015 and being a finalist in 2017, as well as being a runner up for the Business Woman of the Year category at the competitive Kent Women in Business Awards. As a company, 55Plus Equity Release has also won awards in its own rights, led by Jan to be a finalist in the Best Financial Adviser (5 advisers or less category) in the Equity Release Awards 2018.
The Financial Times’ article
The article, that now features on the FT Adviser’s website reports on the range of products that are now available to equity release customers. In fact, the number of packages available has increased dramatically year-on-year, providing better choice for customers who are seeking to unlock some of the cash tied up in their property.
With equity release rising in popularity each year, and the deals that are available to homeowners aged 55 and over becoming more and more competitive, providers are constantly having to innovate to come up with bespoke offers and products to fit a range of different circumstances. All this is great news to equity release customers, with a wider range of choice available.
Recognition for our hard work
Jan was thrilled to feature in the FT article, and commented: “It’s really fantastic to have the hard work that my advisers and I have put in to establish 55Plus as a national company, with a reputation for honest, independent advice.
“We always put the customer first, and it’s great that this message is reaching a wider audience. As you can see in the article, there are an increasing number of equity release products available to customers, so if you’re looking to explore what your options might be, now is a great time to do so.
“In particular, the market response to the changing economic climate means there are products to suit a whole range of personal circumstances. At 55Plus Equity Release, the customer is truly at the heart of everything we do. So, if you want some advice about what your options could be in terms of releasing equity, then we’re always here to help.”
